| Is
it harder to get a job
in medical or pharmaceutical sales without a degree? Yes. Impossible?
Not anymore.
Up until
ten years ago it was impossible to even get an interview
without a four-year degree.
There
are companies that will hire people without a four-year
degree. Surprisingly, it is easier to get a job with a medical equipment
company rather than a pharmaceutical company. This is surprising
because the pay is generally much higher.
The
companies that may hire a person without a degree are the
smaller companies within both pharmaceutical and medical sales.
You can consult the PharcorLinks
section in the tutorial to learn more about these companies.
I know
of two people who were recently hired
without degrees. One was a chef who was hired by an orthopedic equipment
company. The other is a woman with one year of college who has just
left one pharmaceutical company for another and recently turned
down an offer from a third company. These were all small to medium
size companies within those industries.
Use
your ability to ask informed questions to show your knowledge
of the company you are interviewing with. Utilize PharcorLinks to
access information on almost any company in these industries.
